I'm curious to see what types of films the 5 extra will bring. If 2 or 3 above average blockbusters get nominated, I'm gonna wonder if it's just about ratings for the ceremony telecast. |

10 is too many.
Soon half the videos in the store will have "Oscar Nominee" on them and the phrase will lose all meaning. |

to be fair oscar nominee has lose its touch because so many films say - nomined, for some techincal award.

I think that 10 is a good way to go - its a return to the golden age of cinema style and should allow recoginition for a few more main stream films, animations & foriegn langauge films.
Last year : Dark Knight, Wall-e & Man on Wire all should have been nominees for best picture ( if there was 10 places) |
