How I see things is how I see things. I can't change my mind and will never waste my time longing to do so. |

believing that we should allow choice for abortion but it should not be taken lightly is probably the firmest stance that I thought of. I don't believe nor want to believe in many things that may not exist. |

why do you want to believe in something that may not exist? I think I might know what you mean but I'm curious for more detail...

My dad is like this. He thinks many aspects of some religions are comforting, and we wishes to indulge in them, such as eternal salvation-but he is unable to, due to his perception. |

It's all about ignorance being bliss. There are people that simply cannot believe despite their attempts to do so.
I don't believe, nor do I want to do so. |

I can't imagine how people find solace in religions. I find atheism to be much more comforting. |

I'm actually happier not believing in an afterlife or many of the religious tenants. I sincerely think that this punishment reward thing for not being good enough, is not very attractive. I honestly believe that it will be for me exactly as it was before I was born and that only the pain of the transit is scary.
Occasionally I truly wish I could tweak the outcome of some difficult life event by the supernatural. That's about it. |

Personally, I am gad I'm agnostic.
I think it opens up an abundance of intellectual avenues that would otherwise be narrowed or closed off if I were an adherent to a belief system that condemned/disapproved of such investigation.
Agnosticism is straightforward and flexible, and I needn't worry about violating my principles based off of its tenets.
When my dad tells me the joy in being a theist, I tell him that. I tell him I am quite content as far as this discussion goes. |

Neither. If something exists then it's real. It doesn't need me running around the place believing in it in order to be real.
No invisible wizards demanding penance and obedience to arbitrary, irrelevant rules. No little green men abducting rednecks in order to advance their knowledge of the human rectum. |

I'd like to believe in a simple, defined political party/system, I suppose |

Religion: I don't believe, nor want to - that there is nothing out there is more comforting to me; that we are all products of chance and circumstance makes more sense to me and I think promotes doing the right thing on a deeper level
Politics: I want to believe that we can, through our politicians, find the best solutions but I'm so very skeptical about it
Love: I believe - it's the one irrational thing I'll believe in |

I actively disbelieve in almost all religious and spirtiual crap. The spirtiual and pseudoscientific stuff bothers me more than religions. Religious people seem to accept that it is all faith, while the pseudoscientific ones actually believe that you can test for things like "biorhythms"

religion- I'm Catholic. I believe in the tenets of the faith. I disagree with some minor non-religious issues that the church claims to agree in. However, I don't think this makes me not a Catholic. I know a priest who disagrees with some of these non-religious issues.
politics- I believe somewhere there is a politician who I'd agree with 95% of the time. Somewhere out there.
Love- I believe. Love is perhaps the greatest hope in the world. If we all cared and loved just a bit more, we could change so much.
UFO's- I think most, if not all, people who see UFOs are seeing airplanes, a shooting star or are imagining things. I do think life probably exists outside of Earth. |

I use to be Christian.
It was comforting to think that someone cared.
It was comforting to think that the someone who cared could help.
It was comforting to think that some part of me would continue to exist after my death.
It was comforting to think there was something more than what I can see around me.
It was comforting to be part of something bigger than myself.
I don't have any of those comforts anymore.
Nor am I likely to get them back. |
